Start with Faith When Seeking Help
Every person wrestles with deep questions at some point in life:
Who is God? Why am I here? What am I supposed to do with the pain, fear, or emptiness I feel?
Maybe you grew up in church and can quote Scripture, yet feel distant from the God you profess to know. Perhaps life’s disappointments have left you wondering if He’s still listening. Or perhaps you’ve never really known Him—only heard about Him from others. Wherever you are today, these questions matter—because knowing who God truly is changes everything.
The Search for God Begins with Honest Questions
We often think doubt is dangerous, but honest questioning can bring us closer to the truth. When life feels confusing or faith feels flat, it’s not that God has gone silent. It’s that He’s inviting us to seek Him.
Jeremiah 29:13 — “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
In faith-based counseling and coaching, I often meet people who love God but feel disconnected from Him. They can talk about faith, but they struggle to feel it. Knowing God is about allowing truth to travel from your head to your heart. And sometimes, that journey needs a guide.
Who Is God, Really?
Scripture gives us many glimpses if you’ve ever wondered how to describe God.
God Is Our Creator
Genesis 1:1 — “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
Everything you see—the sky, the trees, your very breath—originated in the mind of God. He is not random or reactive. He is intentional, wise, and artistic. Your existence is not an accident; it’s an act of divine design. When life feels chaotic, remembering that God is Creator reminds us: there is order, meaning, and purpose even in what feels broken.
God Is Relational
John 15:15 — “I have called you friends.”
God isn’t distant or detached. He is personal and present. He walked with Adam in the garden, spoke with Moses on the mountain, and sent His Son, Jesus, to dwell among us.
The God of the Bible wants a relationship, not religion.
He doesn’t just tolerate you—He treasures you.
That truth alone can shift the way you see yourself, especially if you’ve struggled with shame, rejection, or perfectionism.
God Is Redeemer
Isaiah 43:1 — “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine.”
We live in a fallen world, surrounded by sin, pain, and confusion. But God didn’t leave us there.
Through Jesus Christ, He stepped into our story to rescue, restore, and redeem.
He offers forgiveness for our past, strength for today, and hope for tomorrow.
If you’ve ever thought, “I’ve gone too far,” or “I’ve messed up too much,” know this: redemption is God’s specialty.
God Is Healer
Psalm 147:3 — “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
God doesn’t just forgive sin—He heals wounds.
Many of us carry invisible scars from trauma, loss, or disappointment. We learn to function, but not to flourish.
Faith-based counseling is often the bridge between knowing God can heal and learning how to let Him.
Healing doesn’t come from pretending everything is fine. It comes from bringing your pain into the light—before God, and often alongside someone who can walk with you in His truth.
Why Knowing God Changes Everything
When you truly know God—not just facts about Him—your worldview transforms.
- You begin to see yourself as loved, not forgotten.
- You respond to fear with faith, not control.
- You make decisions from peace, not panic.
- You learn to rest in His character, not your performance.
This is where theology meets transformation.
And it’s where faith-based counseling and coaching become powerful tools for spiritual growth.
Because when your understanding of God deepens, your capacity for healing, connection, and purpose expands.
How Faith-Based Counseling Helps You Know God Personally
At Are You Ready Counseling, my goal isn’t to give you a checklist of religious duties—it’s to help you encounter God in the middle of your real life.
Through Scripture, prayer, and Christ-centered reflection, we uncover:
- The false beliefs keeping you stuck in fear or shame
- The lies the enemy uses to distort your identity
- The truth of who God is—and who you are in Him
Faith-based counseling bridges psychology and theology, truth and tenderness.
It’s not just about managing emotions—it’s about realigning your life with God’s Word and presence.
The Invitation: Don’t Just Learn About God—Meet Him
Maybe you’ve tried reading the Bible on your own but still feel lost. Maybe you’ve gone to church for years, but sense something missing. Or maybe you’re in a season of pain where you need to see God as Healer, not just Holy.
You don’t have to figure it out alone.
Through biblical counseling or faith-based coaching, you can rediscover who God is—and who He made you to be.
James 4:8 — “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
That promise is still true. God hasn’t moved away; He’s waiting for you to draw near.
